When it comes to the matter of sexual intimacy there are a lot of misconceptions among Muslims. One of them being “Is the woman on top position forbidden in Islam?” And in this article, you will know what’s wrong and right.

Woman On Top Position Forbidden In Islam Or Not?
As for our knowledge, any intimate act which pleases the husband and wife, except the anal sex, is permissible in Islam. Many scholars also have the opinion for not engage in acts that are nasty. However, there is no clear evidence that they are forbidden, as long both the parties are pleased to do so.
There are three most natural posture, the standing, sitting or squatting, and the laying position. With regard to these postures for intimacy, Islam allows all of them. But unnatural actions such as anal sex is forbidden. Take note that, from a medical point of view, the standing sex is undesirable.
When it comes to the woman on top position forbidden in Islam, There are some suggestive indications in the Quran and the Hadith.
For example: In one of the verses of the Quran Allah Almighty says: “It is He who created you from one soul and created from it its mate, that he might dwell in security with her. And when he covers her, she carries a light burden and continues therein”. (The Quran, 7:189).
The above verses of Quran suggest that, men are the ones who should provide security to women, and ensure that she carries a light burden. Letting the women lay down for you is suggested, rather than the woman on top position. However, women on top positions are allowed in Islam, as long both are comfortable doing so.

Any Position Is Permissible, Except Anal Entry
Any other posture or position which is pleasing to spouses is also quite acceptable.
Once Hazrat Umar (r.a) had sexual intercourse with his wife, being behind (but not through the anal passage). Subsequently, the idea took over him that he had done something undesirable.
He immediately rushed to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) exclaiming, “I killed, I killed … “
He was asked, what was the matter.
In response, he spoke about his fear that he had done something undesirable.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) did not say anything, not answering.
Sometime later, the verses of the Quran have revealed: “Your wives are a place of sowing of seed for you, so come to your place of cultivation. However, you wish and put forth [righteousness] for yourselves”. (The Quran, 2:223)
Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) explained the meaning of this verse:
Intimacy permitted from any position, front or rear if this is not anal sex, which is prohibited.
The example given in the Qur’an is cultivable land, which can be approached from any side, if the seeds are sown in a plowed field, and not in another place!
Well, what we could conclude about the woman on top position forbidden in Islam?
It is permissible. This only non-permissible sexual act in Islam is “Anal Sex.”
